It’s cracked very slightly but I can fix that.
The tyre covers that bit anyway so it’s all good.

should have just caulked the crack. It would have probably held the air

Okay, now you’re just doing this to get attention. :)

ha.... on that note tho.... i need to go pick a fight with me bike shop tomorow
spoke failed and bent the wheel (failed at the hub not at the rim... suspiciously like the spoke i had them replace a long with all the others a few weeks back)
have a feeling they half assed that job.. or just cleaned my spokes and straightened the wheel rather than fixing anything

Might as well do it properly as the welder was already out ;)

is the welder ever put away tho?

That has to need a pound of wheel weights to balance now.

It’s fiiiiine. :P

Caulk, pfft, flex-seal tape and you’re good.

I am actually impressed.

Truing a wheel is hard. That said, anyone who works in a bike shop should be good at it. If they are decent, they will expedite the fix no charge. I am a huge believer in supporting my local bike shop with my business. It’s one of the few times I don’t go online to see if I can shave a few pennies off the price of something. But, I also believe in holding a shop to standards.

eh... normally they do a good job... this time i had a washing list of shit needed doing i think the broken spoke may have been overlooked
wheel was straight when i got it back tho..... just not for very long (wont ride it tomorow as my wheel was starting to make the pinging noises of overstressed spokes that signal impending doom)

Ah yes, the Ping of Doom. Hopefully the rim isn’t pretzelled yet. Then it’s irredeemable.

doesnt *look* too bad yet... only bent in one place that i can tell... not scraping the frame yet.... but not the first time its bent...
i may have to keep a worst case of a new rear wheel in mind

welp.... that was painless.. called them after work to ask when it would suit them for me to bring the bike down and have the wheel fixed.. as it was just a couple spokes they told me to bring it down and they’ll try and find a minute for it between other jobs
got a call 10 minutes before closing time to come pick it up (good thing i practically live in their parking lot:p)
only charged me for the spoke too.... 95 cents ( oh noes im bankrupted)
i’ll be back to throw more money at em tho... so i guess the strategy worked (and that shop is full of brand new bicycle porn... kinda want a new one now.... i mean... mine is 3 years old..... thats practically a dinosaur)

I still love to ogle the new machines when I bring my hand cycle in. I must look pathetic to onlookers from my wheelchair, but I don’t even care.
Glad they took care of you.
